Omar Alkilani founded and led "Mood Band," an Arabic oriental music ensemble, which participated in the UNHCR World Refugee Day concert in 2018. Organized by UNHCR and the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (IKSV), the event featured diverse performances, including those by notable bands such as the Turkish band "Sattas," the American group "Country For Syria" and the Turkish band "Yolda." Sharing the stage with these acclaimed musicians underscored Omar Alkilani's role as a pioneering figure in the music community, highlighting his dedication to promoting cultural exchange and solidarity through music.
